Man wanted for murder in Elkhart arrested in Waco Texas after police chase

A former Elkhart man arrested in Texas after a high-speed chase and crash is wanted in Elkhart County for a murder charge and other criminal counts.

Donald Ray Owen Jr., 20, of Waco, Texas, is expected to be transferred to Elkhart County to face charges including murder, robbery resulting in serious injury and two counts of criminal confinement, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

Details surrounding the deadly robbery are not available because the case is currently sealed, The Elkhart Truth reported.

Owen is also wanted on an Elkhart County warrant for a probation violation in a 2018 conviction for auto theft, possession of meth and resisting law enforcement.

The passenger in Owen’s vehicle, Zabrina Brown, 43, of Elkhart, is also wanted on a warrant in Elkhart County for a probation violation in a 2014 conviction for dealing meth, The Elkhart Truth reported.
