A convicted sex offender has been arrested for allegedly possessing child pornography.

Daniel Boyer, 50, of Mishawaka, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 23 and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on suspicion of possession of child pornography.

A warrant for his arrest was issued after parole officers found a smart phone hidden in a tissue box in Boyer’s bathroom back in May, according to County documents, as reported by 95.3 MNC’s news partners at ABC 57.

Investigators with the St. Joseph County Cyber Crimes Unit found more than 200 images on the phone that appeared to be images of child pornography and child exploitation involving young, nude males engaging in sex acts and selfies of Boyer,  according to the probable cause affidavit, ABC 57 reported.

Boyer was previously convicted of possession of child pornography and was on parole at the time.

Boyer also has a prior conviction of child molesting and is a registered sex offender.
