Elkhart man accused in stabbing incident

An Elkhart man has been accused in a stabbing that happened in September.

On Thursday, police charged Phillip Briseno, 42, with battery with a deadly weapon. That’s a Level 5 felony that could result in up to six years in prison.

Police responded to a reported stabbing on September 29th at a home on Cone Street, and discovered a victim who had several stab wounds. He underwent emergency surgery and later identified Briseno as his assailant.
