Most to least educated states study ranks Indiana low

A new list has ranked all 50 states from most to least educated, and the news is mixed for Hoosiers. That’s because the state ranks 40th in education attainment, but 7th in quality of education.

The study from WalletHub ranks Indiana 37th overall. For education attainment their metrics looked at adults 25+ and their lowest level of completed education. Quality of education metrics included quality of school system, average quality of universities, and public high school graduation rate; to name a few.

Essentially, the number of educated adults is relatively low, but educational opportunities are high.

Our neighbors in Michigan overall ranked 28th, Ohio ranked 33rd, Kentucky ranked 45th, and Illinois ranked 12th. You can find the full list of rankings and study information here.
