The South Bend Community Schools are making changes to their bus routes.

Starting Monday, there will be fewer buses running fewer routes. WSBT reports that 190 buses will become 168, and 881 routes will become 736.

The change is designed to make the transportation department more efficient, and give drivers fewer miles to drive. It also allows more buses and drivers to be available in the event one isn’t able to drive that day. No bus stops are being eliminated under the new plan, which targets some of the issues mentioned in previous complaints about the service.
