A teenager was hit by an unknown vehicle while walking on Modrell Avenue just north of Elkhart.

The County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Thursday morning around 7 a.m. in the eastbound lane west of Berkley Avenue. A 16 year-old Elkhart girl was walking when she was allegedly clipped in the elbow by the vehicle.

The driver reportedly got out to ask if she “was ok,” and then headed east on Modrell. The make and model of the vehicle are not known.
