Suspects, victim in deadly home invasion in Dowagiac identified

There is new information about the two men charged in a deadly home invasion in Dowagiac.

It took place at a home on Louise Avenue on Monday, Jan. 27.

Investigators say the suspects, Justin Robert-Gabriel Carlton and Jay Vincent Penar, tied up the people inside the home and shot and killed Michael Collins.

Carlton and Penar were arraigned on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Both men face a count of open murder, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and multiple counts of armed robbery and weapons charges.

Their next court appearance is set for February 12.
