Freezer meat burglar tracked down by his fingerprints

Kevin Cheney/ ABC 57 News

A hungry-hungry burglar in South Bend is now behind bars. Back in May of 2019 the homeowner returned to her house to find pry marks on her front door and a window next to the door broken out.

Inside everything seemed to be fine except the door was broken of her refrigerator. Initially she didn’t report anything missing but eventually discovered that the burglar had taken a sheet cake, pork steak, chicken and other meat from a separate smaller freezer. Thanks to fingerprints taken at the scene police were able to identify Kevin Cheney as the primary suspect.
