A convicted sex offender is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Feb. 10, after prosecutors say he was caught with more than 100 files of suspected child pornography.
Authorities were tipped off by Google, last fall, after the image transfer was made online.
The reported user’s IP address was captured at the time of the upload.
A subpoena was issued to the cell phone provider who turned over information, leading officers to the suspect, Robert Baesler, 68, a registered sex offender who was convicted of child molesting in Elkhart County in 2006 and who was convicted of possession of child pornography, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.
Baesler waived his rights and admitted to the FBI he downloaded the child porn, ABC 57 reported.
