Charges have been filed in the shooting death of Juan Garcia earlier this week.

The shooting happened Wednesday at Dubail and Grant Streets in South Bend.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office says 35 year-old Larry Deandre McLucas has been charged with a felony count of murder, a misdemeanor count for an unlicensed firearm, and a faces a further firearm sentencing enhancement. In total he could receive up to 86 years in prison if found guilty.

He’s in custody and is due in court Friday afternoon.
