(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

A pair of car dealerships in Mishawaka have reported the theft of thousands of dollars worth of tires.

The thefts happened at Gates Chevy World and Michiana Chrysler. Several catalytic converters were stolen, as well.

Matt Helmcamp, President of Gates Chevy World, told WNDU that the thefts have been happening since around Christmastime.

Twenty sets of wheels valued at $80,000 have been stolen from the dealership. In many cases people have snuck onto car lots after business hours and taken the wheels off vehicles.

Anyone with information should contact the Mishawaka Police at 574-258-1678.
