A man has been arrested after police say he robbed the Dollar General store in Vandalia.

The heist happened around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28.

The investigation showed that the suspect came into the store and led a worker to believe that he had a weapon while requesting money.

After the suspect received the money, he left the store and entered an occupied car requesting a ride but was denied.

The suspect was located a short time later on Mulberry Street in Vandalia, where he was placed under arrest for armed robbery.

The name of the individual is being withheld at this time, pending arraignment.
