Late night shootings open death investigations in Goshen and South Bend

While investigating the shooting on 9th Street late Tuesday night, March 3, police in Goshen say they received a call from someone that saw several people load another person into a truck and drive away. Shortly after that they were called to the hospital for a man with gunshot wounds. Jordan Garcia, 26, of Goshen died at the hospital.

In South Bend the 19-year-old man who died was still alive when police arrived, but Alan Diaz of South Bend was not able to recover from a gunshot wound as he was rushed to the hospital. Shots were fired somewhere in the 1600 block of North Elmer around midnight, but circumstances that led to the gunfire remain unknown.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call police or Michiana Crime Stoppers.
