Tattoo and piercing shop potentially exposes customers to HIV and Hepatitis

Source: http://www.bchdmi.org/

Scary news from the Berrien county Health Department with word that customers of a Niles tattoo shop may have been exposed to several diseases including HIV.

If you’ve recently had a piercing done at Paparazzi Tattoo & Body Piercing in Niles, then you may have been exposed to Hep C, Hep B, or HIV. Exposure happened when the business failed to properly sterilize a pair of metal forceps that were used during their piercings. The health department does say that ear or nose piercings would not have been affected.

Paparazzi’s license has since been suspended, and they are working to contact all known individuals that could have been exposed.

If you think any of this applies to you, contact your health provider immediately. If you don’t have a care provider tests can be performed at the Berrien County Health Department offices in Benton Harbor and Niles. Darrin Wright MNC News.
