Notre Dame student tests positive for coronavirus

This undated electron microscope image made available by the U.S. National Institutes of Health in February 2020 shows the Novel Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Also known as 2019-nCoV, the virus causes COVID-19. The sample was isolated from a patient in the U.S. (NIAID-RML)

A Notre Dame student has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Notre Dame Observer says an internal email has revealed that a student who returned home from an overseas study in London had been in self-quarantine at home when they tested positive.

The student was NOT on the campus when they tested positive for the virus. The student’s local health department is overseeing their medical care.

The University has confirmed the diagnosis.
