The South Bend Police Department’s 2nd Annual Stock Up for Summer Food & Necessities Drive is wrapping up! Donation boxes will be set up in the South Bend Police Department’s main lobby though this Friday, ahead of Saturday’s drive-thru donation event.
The physical food drive event will be held this Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. outside of the South Bend Police Department at 701 W. Sample Street. This drive aims to keep the SBPD Food Pantry stocked throughout the summer. When school is out of session, some families may experience a tougher time accessing food or other necessities.
We are looking for donations of:
Canned foods
Boxed meals
Pasta
Peanut butter
Jelly
Cereal
Hygiene products
Diapers
Wipes
Formula
Any other non-perishable food item or hygiene product
SBPD Officers have 24/7 access to our pantry, which they can visit when they encounter an individual on a call who may need some extra help with food or baby items.
We appreciate your help in reminding our community about this drive… and would appreciate any coverage on Saturday as well! Several SBPD officers and members of S.A.V.E. will be assisting with the event on Saturday.
