ISDH latest numbers show local COVID-19 cases up; no additional deaths

The Indiana State Department of Health has reported another large spike in confirmed cases as more test results come back. The most recent update adds 58 new positive results bringing the state’s total up to 259. The number of Hoosiers that have died from the disease is at 7.

Local reports may indicate numbers are higher, but officially the states results show the county breakdown as:

St. Joseph County- 9
Elkhart County- 4
La Porte County- 2

Locally there have still been no deaths reported. Marion County continues to have the highest number of cases with around 110 total.

INDIANAPOLIS -The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) today reported 58 new positive cases of COVID-19, bringing to 259 the number of Hoosiers diagnosed through ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. Seven Hoosiers have died, including an Allen County adult over age 60 whose death was announced Sunday by the Allen County Health Department.

A total of 1,960 tests have been reported to ISDH to date, including 466 in the last 24 hours.

Marion County had the most new cases, at 28. The complete list of counties with cases is included in the ISDH COVID-19 dashboard at https://www.in.gov/coronavirus/, which will be updated daily at 10 a.m. Cases are listed by county of residence. Private lab reporting may be delayed and will be reflected in the map and count when results are received at ISDH.

Additional updates on the state’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak may be provided later today.

Is there any way to determine if you have already had the virus and recovered.
