Governor Holcomb says offenders at the Miami Correctional Facility are producing face masks and other materials to aid in the fight against COVID-19.

On Friday the governor said masks, personal protection gowns, face shields and even hand sanitizer to help stop the spread of the virus. Holcomb said he’s pleased to have the assistance of the Department of Correction joining the ranks of large and small businesses that are stepping up to help.

He said the production of these important tools will take some of the strain off the state’s supply chain.

The Department says they plan on also re-purposing a production line at Wabash Valley Correctional to do the same.
