Indiana’s total positive COVID-19 cases are now just shy of 9,000.
New numbers released Wednesday show 8,955 cases, after 440 new patients were diagnosed. Forty-nine more Hoosiers have died, bringing the state’s total to 436.
A total of 48,396 Hoosiers have been tested.
St. Joseph County has 273 cases, tied for the 6th most in the state. Elkhart County has 105.
Worldwide, the latest numbers indicate more then 2 million people have been diagnosed with coronavirus.
