Indiana’s Supreme Court has responded to the governor’s request regarding the status of Attorney General Curtis Hill.
The Court denied Governor Holcomb’s request to determine whether Curtis Hill can remain the state’s Attorney General.
If the Court had clarified the vacancy question, it would have allowed Holcomb to name a new person to the post.
In their summary the Court ruled that they should not offer up advisory opinions and said it would be inappropriate for them to rule on the status of the current vacancy in the office.
It seems likely that Hill return to the office after his suspension expires.
