Dollar General literacy grants will benefit Michiana

Literacy programs in Indiana are about to benefit from a grant program by Dollar General.

Non-profits around the state are receiving $143,000 in literacy grants. They will benefit summer, family and adult literacy programs in Indiana.

The money represents part of the largest single-day grant announcement by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. $8.6 million was given to 970 non-profits across the country.

La Casa de Amistad in South Bend, adult literacy in the South Bend Schools, The Elkhart County Boys & Girls Clubs, and Kosciusko Literacy Services are among those receiving funds
