Businesses are starting to reopen around the country after a loss of more than 40 million jobs, and new rankings show Indiana and Michigan with a big impact.
Consumer website WalletHub reports their updated ratings for the cities with the biggest increases in unemployment related to the pandemic. The report was compiled using statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Detroit was #3 on the list, with Grand Rapids at #5. Fort Wayne was in 8th place. Fort Wayne experienced a more than 480% jump in unemployment between January and April.
Unsurprisingly, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas were #1 and #2, respectively, as the hospitality and tourism industry have cratered around the country.
