Person struck, killed by train in western St. Joseph County

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a train.

St. Joseph County Police responded to the area of Walnut Road, south of U.S. 20, on Thursday afternoon, June 4, where they found the victim.

The individual was possibly distracted by a phone or paperwork and appeared to unintentionally step into the train’s path, investigators stated.
