Not quite time to wake up the echoes, but Notre Dame football players will be back in South Bend on Monday. The University has brought students back to campus so that they can take tests and undergo any other necessary steps before voluntary workouts on June 22nd.
The university says about 90 players will live in individual rooms for the entirety of the summer until they are ready for their regular residences in the fall semester. The school has laid out phases to prepare students. First they have to be in a one week quarantine after being tested, once that is done Phase 1 includes workouts in groups of no larger than 10, Phase 2 is workouts in groups of 50, and by Phase 3 those restriction will be lifted.
The exact future of college football as a whole is still unknown.
