Two people were injured in a motorcycle crash on Thursday, June 11, near Leesburg.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office says they received the call just after 10 p.m. regarding the crash along County Road 700 North, just east of Harper Road.

Injured in the crash was the operator of the motorcycle, a 63-year old Leesburg man and his passenger, a 36-year old woman from Akron, Ohio.

Investigators say the Leesburg man was driving the 2002 Harley Davidson eastbound along E CR 700 North, when for unknown reasons, the motorcycle left the north side of the roadway, on a curve, ejecting both victims on to the embankment.

The man was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne with multiple injuries. The woman was taken to the same hospital with head and neck injuries.

Neither rider was wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation and is pending toxicology results.
