BBB investigating a possible contractor scam in Mishawaka

A pair of contractors are being investigated by the Better Business Bureau of Northern Indiana after multiple customers reported them as possible scammers.

BBB officials say one was an asphalt company in Fort Wayne, and the other was M & S Roofing in Mishawaka.

A woman reported losing $2,500 when three men in a truck with an M & S Roofing sign offered to reseal her driveway, but the offer was only good that day if they were paid in cash. After starting the job, they claimed they ran out of materials and would have to return. Despite several attempts to reach the company, no one has ever come back to do the job.

The BBB reminds consumers to be weary of door-to-door contractors, and check BBB.org for the latest information or to report a possible scam.
