Official: No South Bend Cubs baseball this season

There will officially be no Minor League Baseball in South Bend, Fort Wayne or Indianapolis, this year.

MiLB confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the 2020 season has been canceled. Due to the shortened season and roster restrictions, Major League Baseball could not supply enough players for a minor league season.

That means fans of the Indianapolis Indians, Fort Wayne Tincaps and South Bend Cubs will have to wait another year to see their team in action.

Major League Baseball is still planning on playing a 60-game season beginning July 24.
