South Bend homeowners can now apply for the 2020 Lamppost Lighting Program.

The program assists homeowners with lighting enhancements in their neighborhoods by offering easy self-install, solar-powered lampposts for residential front yards.

The City has selected two target areas for the program based on income, the number of vacant lots and the need for lighting in the neighborhood. Those who live within target areas will pay a lower share of total cost.

  • Within target areas, homeowners pay 10% of total lamppost cost: $50.00
  • Outside target areas, homeowners pay 50% of total lamppost cost: $250.00

Applications are open now through Friday, July 31. To apply, visit southbendin.gov/lamppost.
