Sunburst race canceled due to cloud of COVID-19

The annual Sunburst race has been canceled.

Originally set for June, then moved to August, organizers put a halt to the event, altogether, due to the health and safety of the participants in the midst of the pandemic.

The event, put on by Beacon Health System, draws several thousand runners from across the country.

Those who’ve registered can take part in a virtual race, apply the fee toward next year’s registration, donate it to Beacon Children’s Hospital, or get a refund.
