South Bend students will begin their school year with at least 8 weeks of online learning. The plan that was passed by the school board members on Monday, Aug. 3, has eLearning taking place until at least Oct. 5. Around Sep. 18, School leaders will determine whether it may be safe to switch to in-classroom instruction after October 5th.
Members of the Penn Harris Madison school board also voted in favor of starting the school year with online learning on Monday. In-classroom instruction could begin as early as Sep. 14 if its deemed safe to do so. Before students would return, physically, inside classrooms, parents will be given the choice of what instruction they would like to continue with.
