Benton Harbor police investigating triple shooting

Three people are injured after a shooting, and crash, in Benton Harbor Tuesday.

Police were called to the 1100 block of McAlister Street around 5 p.m. on reports of the crash.

When police arrived to the scene, they found two men inside a car suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment and are in critical condition.

Dispatch was also advised that another gunshot victim drove directly to the hospital. They are in stable condition with a wound to the arm.

An investigation revealed that there were four people inside the car at the time of the crash, but two subjects had fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.

Police report the shooting occurred on the roadway while the subjects were driving.

There is no suspect information at this time, but police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Robert Shepherd at (269) 277-0096. Tips can also be sent via the BHDPS anonymous tip app.
