Several students at New Prairie High School have had to quarantine.

The district has asked around 20 students to isolate after they learned the group of students gathered at a party before the school year started.

Students returned to school at New Prairie on Thursday, Aug. 13.

Superintendent Dr. Paul White says they learned of the party through contact tracing. He hasn’t said if any students have been confirmed to have the virus, but that the contact tracing showed many of those students were at another gathering where they were likely exposed to the virus.

White is urging students to take social distancing measures seriously.
