Indiana House Republicans will formally name the successor to Speaker Brian Bosma on Wednesday.

Fishers attorney Chris Jeter won the GOP primary for Bosma’s district seat and is unopposed to serve the three remaining months until election day.

Voters will choose between Jeter and Pam Dechert, a community volunteer, in November.

Jeter says he’ll bring a small-government conservative viewpoint to the role, and believes Governor Holcomb has done his best to protect the public during the pandemic.

Bosma resigned in July after 34 years in the House, 12 of those as speaker.
