Bristol man killed in motorcycle crash at S.R. 15 and U.S. 20

A Bristol man lost his life in a motorcycle crash.

The collision happened around 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at State Road 15 and U.S. 20.

Barry Chitwood, 64, was traveling northbound on State Road 15 south of U.S. 20 when he lost control of the Harley Davidson he was operating and ran off the roadway.

Chitwood was pronounced dead a the scene.

There was no immediate information about the factors that contributed to the crash.

Did he lose control, or was the accident caused by a motorist who then fled the scene? The crash team should know from the skidmarks and speeds.
