An arraignment hearing was set for Wednesday, Aug. 19,  for a 19-year-old man charged in connection with a crash that caused serious injuries to his passenger.

It was back in June when prosecutors say Darius Vaughn was driving at a high rate of speed in the area of Prairie Avenue and Cotter, then lost control of his vehicle, hit a power pole and then a semi.

Vaughn’s passenger suffered two broken legs.

Vaughn is charged with causing serious bodily injury while operating a vehicle with a schedule I or II substance in the blood.
