Medflight called to crash in Elkhart County, infant flown to hospital

Medflight was called to a crash in Elkhart County Thursday after an infant was ejected from a bicycle.

The crash happened on County Road 13 north of County Road 142.

A Chevrolet passenger car was traveling northbound when it rear-ended a bicyclist heading in the same direction.

A 10-month-old infant was riding passenger on the bicycle, and was ejected upon impact. Police report the child was conscious and breathing, but was flown via Medflight to a Fort Wayne hospital for evaluation.

The bicyclist and the driver of the vehicle were both uninjured.
