One person has died and another was injured after a crash in Elkhart County Thursday.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. on South County Line Road east of County Road 137.

Police report a vehicle was heading eastbound when it went left of center and off the north side of the roadway, striking a tree.

The driver, identified as Anthony Reyes, 17 of Ligonier, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger suffered lacerations to his left hand and was transported to a local hospital via ambulance.
