Elkhart County Board expands landfill, approves bridge design funding

Elkhart County’s Board of Commissioners has signed a contract to expand the landfill.

Monday the board signed a construction contract worth more than $728,000 to put an addition on the newest landfill cell. That’s according to The Elkhart Truth.

The 2-acre addition should add another three years of capacity.

The Board also approved more than $500,000 for a design contract for the eventual replacement of the CR 26 bridge over Baugo Creek.
