Michigan reminding residents of EEE threat

A reminder from the state of Michigan that the mosquito season isn’t over and the threat of Eastern Equine Encephalitis is still very real. This year the state has reported 10 cases in horses, but none in our direct area. I

n 2019, 10 people caught Eastern Equine Encephalitis in Michigan and of those six died.

Until the first hard frost of the season you are reminded to use bug spray that contains DEET, remove standing water from your property, and wear long sleeves and pants when outside at peak mosquito times.
