Coquillard Elementary students receive school desks for at-home learning

A South Bend elementary school is making an effort to make at-home learning a little easier for its students.

Coquillard Elementary held a “desk distribution” event at no cost to families, Wednesday, to provide students in need with a proper workspace at home.

Desks and chairs were made available for families to pick up Wednesday, with the understanding that they would be returned at the end of the school year. ABC 57 News reports more desks will be distributed Thursday from 2-5 p.m.

School staff will also deliver desks to families who do not have a means of picking them up.

In total, about 100 desks will be distributed to students.
