Man, 35, shot during armed robbery in Benton Township

A man was shot after a reported armed robbery in Benton Township.

Police were called on Thursday night, Sep. 24, to the hospital on the report of a gunshot victim.

The 35-year-old victim told officers he was walking on Highland, near Cornelia, when two men came out from behind a bush and waved a gun. The firearm went off during a struggle and the victim was struck in the leg.

The suspects got away with his cash. So far, no arrests have been announced.
