Possible grenade discovered along riverbank in Elkhart

A suspected grenade was found along the riverbank in Elkhart this past weekend.

Workers with the City of Elkhart were cleaning along a riverbank Saturday afternoon when they came across an “old, very corroded object”, possibly a grenade, according to police.

The police department’s Bomb Disposal Unit was dispatched to the scene and disposed of the object, according to ABC 57.
