Investigation underway after car found submerged in Pinhook Lagoon

An investigation is underway after a car was found submerged in a South Bend lagoon Thursday.

Police were called to Pinhook Park along Riverside Drive just before 2 a.m. after the caller reported seeing a vehicle sink into Pinhook Lagoon.

ABC 57 News reports rescue divers attempted to save anyone inside the car, but found it empty.

The vehicle has since been removed from the lagoon, and it’s unclear how and why it was submerged to begin with.
