Three people hospitalized after crash at SR 23 and New Road in St. Joseph County

Three people were hospitalized after a crash at State Road 23 and New Road in St. Joseph County.

The collision happened around 10:10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19, when investigators say a blue Chrysler Town and Country minivan was traveling northbound with the right of way.

A maroon F-150 pick-up was traveling eastbound on New Road, with a stop sign. The crash occurred between the two vehicles in the middle of the intersection, involving the front of the Ford and the driver’s door area of the Chrysler.

The driver of the F-150, a 25-year-old Walkerton man was taken to the hospital and admitted. The driver of the minivan, a 30-year-old Walkerton woman was admitted with life-threatening injuries. A 3-year-old passenger was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team was called in to investigate the collision.
