Young part of bipartisan legislation aimed at helping mothers

(Saige Driver/95.3 MNC)

Sen. Todd Young is part of a bipartisan coalition of Senators introducing legislation aimed at improving health care for young mothers.

The Connected Maternal Online Monitoring Services, or MOM Act requires the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid to provide coverage recommendations for remote devices to check blood pressure, blood glucose and pulse rates. It also requires them to update state resources like Medicaid telehealth toolkits to correspond with the Act’s recommendations.

The goal is to improve maternal and infant outcomes for pregnant and postpartum women.
