Man arrested on murder charge for shooting death in Mishawaka

A suspect had been arrested on a murder charge for the shooting death of a man in Mishawaka.

On Thursday, Oct. 29, Brandon Stahl, 26, was arrested in connection with the Aug. 21 shooting death of Ryan Serafino, 28, in the 100 block of S. Roosevelt Street.

Serafino was involved in a relationship with the mother of Stahl’s child. Stahl threatened time kill Serafino for breaking up his family, just hours before the shooting, according to court documents.

Stahl was previously charged with Murder and a Felony Firearm Sentencing Enhancement. Probable cause was found and an arrest warrant ordered issued. He was previously ordered held without bond and remains in the custody of the St. Joseph County Jail.

Stahl was scheduled to appear before a St. Joseph County Magistrate on Friday, Oct. 30, for his initial hearing and arraignment.

The sentencing range for Murder is 45 to 65 years. A Felony Firearm Sentencing Enhancement can add an additional 5 to 20 years to the conviction of the underlying offense.
