The South Bend Community Schools Corporation has announced that Lincoln Elementary and Dickinson Fine Arts Academy are closing in-person teaching due to a staffing issue. The district says there are a large number of staff members that are in quarantine. The schools will be in virtual learning until at least November 30th.
Earlier this week the district said they are not planning any large scale district wide shutdowns.
Also, Officials with the Union-North United School Corporation have announced that LaVille Elementary school will be going into virtual learning. That’s due to an increase in COVID cases or close contacts with students and staff.
As of now the plan is to return to normal in person learning on November 30th. The school will still be offering breakfast and lunches during that period and delivering food directly to homes through the 24th.
