The South Bend School Board has approved a contract raising teacher’s salaries.
New teachers hired by South Bend Schools will be earning more than $41,000, according to WSBT.
It’s part of the collective bargaining agreement approved late last week by South Bend School Board members in their effort to attract and retain teachers in what’s been a years-long shortage.
The agreement also calls for teachers with one-to-five years experience to get an additional $2,000 and teachers with more than six years experience will get $2500, WSBT reported.
The contract also includes bonuses for teaching effectiveness, mentoring, bilingual certification and extracurricular members.

HaHAHA!! Only South Bend would give teachers a raise when they are working part time and from home with horrible results. What a joke. People are losing their jobs and businesses and South Bend gives teachers a raise. Thats liberals at their finest! Give me more even if you have to take from others…Sickening!!!
