Families in Elkhart County that are in need of a free meal on Thanksgiving Day have several options this year.

The Elkhart Salvation Army has teamed together with Elkhart Rotary Club and Navarre Hospitality Group for about 1000 free meals that will be distributed drive-thru style, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Thursday, at the Matterhorn. Meals will be first come, first served.

In addition, Faith Mission of Elkhart will distribute hot and cold meals to residents who either drive through or walk up from 12:30 to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

In Goshen, First Methodist Church & Life Center is serving free drive-thru meals on Thursday. They are also in need of volunteers to help.
