Gov. Whitmer will serve as a co-chair of the Biden Inauguration

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer will serve as a co-chair of President-Elect Biden’s inauguration.

Whitmer will serve as one of five co-chairs of the inauguration, according to an announcement Monday morning from the Biden team.

The President-Elect said in a statement that each of the leaders selected for the inauguration represent the strength, spirit and diversity of America, and show a commitment to restoring the soul of the nation and the rebuilding of the middle class.

The lead chair of the inauguration is U.S. Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina.
